Cameras
Box Cameras are the typical camera most people think of when talking about video surveillance or CCTV. While Box Cameras have become less popular than their modern counterparts, they still offer the widest variety of options and features. Box Cameras are commonly used for indoor commercial environments and often used outdoors with a vandal proof, weatherproof enclosure for industrial applications to monitor building perimeters, property entrances and exits, traffic, and other outdoor applications. With an array of lens sizes available, you’ll easily be able to find a Box Camera to fit your needs.
Bullet Cameras are small and cylindrical and shaped like a bullet from a rifle or gun. Most bullet cameras are smaller and more compact than box cameras and are therefore more cosmetically appealing. On the other hand, some long range bullet cameras are larger in size. Bullet cameras come in outdoor and indoor models. Because of their size, they can be somewhat concealed; such as on a pole, fence post, on the corner of a building, or possibly even in a tree. Infrared or IR bullet cameras are excellent for day & night use because of their ability to work with very low or no light at all.
Indoor Dome Cameras are typically more appealing and less bulky than Box Cameras and Bullet Cameras. Therefore, many businesses prefer to use this type of camera inside their facilities. Dome Cameras are often used where you may not want people to know what direction the camera is viewing. Dome Cameras may have a tinted cover or black inner casing, making it difficult to tell which way the lens is pointing. Dome Cameras are also less expensive than Box Cameras and typically come with a fixed or varifocal lens, whereas a single Box Camera may support a variety of different size lenses. Dome Cameras may also be less expensive than Box or Bullet Cameras because of the difference in the housing.
Vandal Proof Dome Cameras are more compact and have an outer metal housing making them more durable. The height of the camera should be considered when choosing the right camera for your system. If the camera height will be in reach of the criminal or close enough to be struck with an object, then a vandal proof dome should be considered. Box Cameras and Bullet Cameras could potentially be knocked down by vandals. Vandal Proof Dome Cameras typically come with a fixed lens, but models with varifocal lenses and IR are also produced. These cameras are the camera of choice for many retail operations like convenient stores, gas stations, and other high traffic stores.
Infrared Cameras are used in areas where ambient light is either too dim or not present at all. These cameras have built-in Infrared Illuminators or IR Illuminators that generate their own light by detecting heat patterns or temperature changes in objects. IR technology is more commonly found in Bullet, Dome, and Vandal Proof Dome cameras. If you have the need to monitor at night or in areas of low lighting, be sure to look into IR Cameras.
PTZ Cameras are remotely controlled by a user with a joystick or software and can be controlled to pan left or right, tilt up and down, and zoom in and out. PTZ cameras provide the ability to point the camera’s viewing area to a specific event or action if desired. PTZ Cameras may also describe an entire category of cameras where motion or sound and/or change in heat signature may enable the camera to activate, focus and track suspected changes in the video field.
If you have a need for a hidden camera, nanny cam or some other type of spy or surveillance product, CCTV Agent has several ready made models to choose from or we can create a custom camera using a tiny camera and an object you provide. Hiddens Cameras can be place virtually anywhere you can imagine.
Hidden cameras and nanny cams are becoming more popular because of their proven effectiveness in identifying abusive caregivers, nannies and babysitters. Without a spy cam in place, you will never know for sure how your loved ones are actually getting taken care of.
Business owners may have the need to use hidden cameras to find that dishonest employee that’s dipping in the petty cash or stealing valuables.
